This box is cut out from a regular sized piece of paper (8.5×11).

I cut mine out of a thin cardstock, then sponged and stamped it before folding it together. It would help if you had a scoring tool but if you don’t, running the rounded point of a pair of scissors down the paper against a ruler on the fold line will score the paper too. You’ll also need to slice two little slits in one side to slip the tabs in. I find the whole thing holds together just a bit longer if you put a piece of tape across the bottom.

Here’s your template. I put mine on a thick piece of cardboard to trace onto the paper I’m turning into the box, but you can just print the template onto the paper you’re going to use.

I put three boxes strategically around the house, in areas often frequented by my daughter (dining room table, living room sofa, ledge outside bedroom), and put 33.33 of the 100 hair elastics I bought for her in each one. That way, no matter where we are, I can do her hair.
